BBL, or Broad Band Light, delivers light energy to treat skin conditions like pigmentation, vascular lesions, uneven skin texture and laxity on the face and body. Procedures are gentle, non-invasive and safe with virtually no downtime. Your treatment will be customized to your skin type and desired results.
How BBL works
The light energy delivered by BBL gently heats the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your cells to regenerate new collagen. This helps improve the overall appearance of your skin making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking. It also eliminates fine vessels that cause redness to the skin and reduces melanin that produces pigmented lesions.
What conditions can BBL treat?
- Pigmented lesions such as freckles and age spots
- Vascular lesions like small blood vessels
- Skin laxity
- Unwanted hair
What can I expect during and after a BBL treatment?
Treatment length varies from a few minutes to about 45 minutes, depending on the area treated. You will experience a warm sensation and “rubber band snap” as the light is absorbed. The number of treatments needed varies from patient to patient and will be discussed with you by your provider.
After the treatment, you may have some redness and warmth that should resolve in a few hours. Some pigmented lesions become darker and will flake off over time. Your treated skin will feel smoother, and fine lines and pores will appear less noticeable. Sunspots and even pigmentation will fade. There is little to no downtime or aftercare needed. Your clinician with review your post-treatment instructions. Sun exposure should be avoided until cleared by your provider.
